What is an instant payment
Instant payments are credit transfers that make funds available for the beneficiary within 10 seconds of a payment order being received by the bank.
Within Isabel 6, an instant payment can be created between 2 SEPA EURO account countries in the currency EURO.
SEPA non-EURO countries are not mandatory yet to accept instant payments. To avoid unexpected rejections of your payments, we therefore prevent the creation instant payments to these countries:
Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Romania, United Kingdom (including Gibraltar and the Crown Dependencies of Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man), Switzerland and Sweden.
Can I create an instant payment with Isabel 6?
Instant payments will be available starting from 9 October 2025.
When creating a new payment from the wizard New > Payment, the option instant payment will be available for the supported banks.
Instant payments follow the same mandates as SEPA payments meaning if you are currently able to create and/or sign SEPA payments, you will be able to create and/or sign instant payments.
For which banks can I initiate instant payments?
Instant payments are available for Bank Van Breda, Beobank and Deutsche bank.
Additional banks will follow in the course of this and next year.
Can I upload an instant payment?
Isabel 6 will only support instant payments that are entered manually via the wizard New > Payment, and initially focus on enabling most banks for single instant payments.
We expect to enable uploading (bulk) instant payments in the course of 2026.
How can I see if my instant payment is executed?
You can review the status of your instant payments in "Sent transactions" area:
Your instant payment is fully executed.
Your instant payment is rejected. You can navigate to the details of your payment to review the reason it failed.
Sent instant payments will be executed instantly from the moment your payment is received by your bank. Feedback within Isabel 6 will become available a few minutes after sending.
Are there separate limits for instant payments?
In Isabel, the same entry and signing authorisations apply to instant payments as to other SEPA payments.
Some banks may apply transaction limits or daily limits to instant payments. Payments exceeding these limits may be refused by the bank upon receipt.
Please consult your bank's specific terms and conditions or contact your bank for more information.
